الملخص

يقدم هذا البحث تعريفاً بالإمام يحيى بن شرف النووي (631-676هـ)، أحد أبرز أعلام المذهب الشافعي ومحرريه في القرن السابع الهجري، مبيناً اسمه ونسبه وكنيته ولقبه المشهور “محيي الدين” الذي كان يكرهه تواضعاً، ونسبته إلى نوى. ويتناول نشأته المبكرة الدالة على نبوغه وتقواه، ورحلته لطلب العلم في دمشق، وجِدّه ومثابرته، مع ذكر لأبرز شيوخه وتلاميذه ومكانته العلمية الرفيعة وزهده وورعه. كما يستعرض البحث مؤلفاته العديدة والمباركة التي نفع الله بها الأمة، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على كتابه الموسوعي “المجموع شرح المهذب”؛ فيبين قصة تأليفه، وأهميته كمصدر أساسي في الفقه الشافعي والفقه المقارن، ومنهجه الدقيق في عرض المسائل، والاستدلال، ونقد الأحاديث، واللغة، والتراجم، والمقارنة بين المذاهب، ويذكر ثناء العلماء عليه وعلى مؤلفه رغم عدم إتمامه له.

This research provides an introduction to Imam Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi (631-676 AH / 1233-1277 CE), one of the most prominent figures and editors (Muharrir) of the Shafi’i school of jurisprudence in the 7th century AH (13th century CE). It details his name, lineage, kunya, his famous title “Muhyi al-Din” (Reviver of the Religion) – which he disliked out of humility – and his nisba (al-Nawawi) indicating his origin from Nawa. The study covers his early upbringing, which showed signs of brilliance and piety, his journey to Damascus seeking knowledge, his diligence and perseverance, along with mentioning his most notable teachers, students, high scholarly status, asceticism, and piety. It also reviews his numerous blessed works that benefited the Muslim Ummah, with a special focus on his encyclopedic book “Al-Majmu’ Sharh al-Muhadhdhab.” The research explains the story behind its composition, its importance as a primary source in Shafi’i and comparative jurisprudence, his meticulous methodology in presenting issues, citing evidence, hadith criticism, language, biographies, and comparing schools of thought, and mentions the scholarly praise for him and his work, despite him not completing it
